Rollie Tussing and The Midwest Territory Band just released their full analogue record, featuring Rollie Tussing, (Guitar and Vocals), Serge van der Voo (Bass), and Jim Carey (Percussion). The album was recorded to 1" 8 track, mixed down through the board to 1/4" 2 track, and sent off to Chris Gooseman who mastered and cut the Vinyl! This album is full organic and sounds of pure analogue.

Returning to Big Sky Recording, Aguanko has just released "Invisible" their second studio album. Featuring Jose "Pepe" Espinosa producing and percussion, Alberto Alberto singing on "Invisible", and Marcus Belgrave on trumpet on "Senior Belgrave". It was a great honor to work with such talented individuals, and we are very proud of the outcome.  You can hear the title track of the album "Invisible" at the samples page.

Drew Defour "In The Blood"

Check out this great video of Drew Defour's "In The Blood" live at Big Sky Recording.
"In the Blood" along with the rest of his record "Decade" was recorded using all analogue methods. Not even digital guitar pedals! For effects we just used spring and plate reverb and tape delay. The band tracked live to 2" 24 track tape on the Ampex MM1200, mixed through the Harrison 790 down to 1/4" 2 track, and will be released on vinyl. You can hear the studio version of this track in the samples page.

For 2 weeks of tracking for their new album with producer Jamie Candiloro, it felt like  Ragbirds were living here!  It's a rare treat for us to have one talented band all set up and ready to play whichever of the dozens of instruments in their arsenal.  Can't wait to hear the finished CD!,

PictureMixing Old School!
The week before, Drew DeFour and an amazing group of studio cats cut a live to 24 track analog (including live backing vocals!) project.  We mixed through the harrison, onto Rollie Tussing's Otari MX5050 - all analogue - no digital anything - just plate reverb or tape echo, analogue compressors and eq. We're just waiting on mastering at Baseline, and then pressing up some records.
